Marie I. Mallon, age 95, of Huron, died Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at SunQuest Healthcare Center. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Huron with burial at Riverside Cemetery in Huron. Visitation with the family present will be from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the Welter Funeral Home; or one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday at the church. Marie Irene May, daughter of Clifford and Nellie (Bemis) May, was born April 1, 1919, at her parents' home on the May Homestead in Huron, SD. She attended Valley #1 Country School and graduated from Huron High School and Northwest College of Commerce in Huron. On December 31, 1938, she married Gail Mallon in Huron, SD and to this union, 5 children were born; 4 sons and 1 daughter. Marie was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Huron where she sang in the choir. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, dancing at the Fun Steppers and Huron Senior Dances, playing cards, reading, and embroidery. Marie is survived by three sons, Michael D. Mallon, Patrick (Kay) Mallon, Ben (Carolyn) Mallon, all of Huron, one daughter, Brenda (Jeff) Dillenburg of Creston, IA; seven grandsons, Rick (Jodi) Jones, Travis Mallon, Cory (Teresa) Mallon, Jason (Nicki) Mallon, Will (Rachel) Lundy, Ben Lundy, and Jeffery Dillenburg; three granddaughters, Denise Gillman, Gayle (Kyle) Raemaker and Crystal (Dustin) Harvey; two step-granddaughters, Heather (Chad) Bartells and Tracy (Terry) Regnier, eight great-grandsons, Daniel, Raistlan, Keagan, Craig, Nick, William, Andrew, and Harrison; six great-granddaughters, Kira, Brooke, Kori, Adelaide, Layla, and Grace; four step-great-grandsons, Collin, Chase, Cadden, and Grayson; two step-great-granddaughters, Miranda (Blaine) and Taylor; one brother, Dale May of Huron; one sister-in-law, Eva May Heller of Denver, CO; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gail in 1997, infant son, Clifford, one granddaughter, Amy Mallon, one granddaughter in law, Kelly Mallon, two brothers, Albert May and Stanley May; one sister and brother in law, Dorothy (James) Rogers; 2 sisters in law, Daisy and Lillian May; and special friend Rex Cloud in 2010.
