Marian Stratton, age 100, of Huron, passed away on Friday May 3, 2013 at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home in Huron. Her graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Huron. Marian Livermore, the daughter of Alfred and Annie (Gray) Livermore was born on October 18, 1912 in Oto, IA. She attended school and graduated from high school. Marian married Marvin E. Stratton on April 15, 1933 in Elk Point, SD. The couple lived the first part of their lives together in Pierre, SD. Marian was a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family and raising her four boys: Marvin, Al, Duane, and Chuck. Later they moved to Huron, SD where they spent the rest of their lives together. Grateful for having shared in her life are her four sons: Duane (Barbara) Stratton of Draper, SD, Al (Linda) Stratton of Mitchell, SD, Marvin (Ardis) Stratton of Soldonta, AK, and late son,Charles "Chuck" (Barbara) Stratton of Fergus Falls, SD; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Marian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin in 1991; and son Charles Stratton.
