Marian Snedeker was born Marian Lucille Fennel on July 5, 1909, to Morton and Mary (Phister) Fennel, on a farm south of Woonsocket. She attended country school north of Wessington Springs as a child and graduated from Alpena High School. On January 22, 1930, Marian married Corrie Snedeker in Huron. They farmed in the Carthage, Iroquois, and Woonsocket area. In 1971, they retired and moved to Huron where she resided until entering the Prairie View Care Center in July of 1997. Marian loved to cook and bake. Her family still remembers those delicious meals and the pies, cookies, caramel rolls and buns were everyones favorites. The coffeepot was always on to welcome their many friends and neighbors that would stop by to visit, play cards or to look at their many photo albums. One could always find Marian busy sewing, crocheting, gardening, or working on the beautiful flowers in her yard. She cooked at the Storla Retirement Home for a short time while they lived there. She enjoyed singing and was a member of the Huron Senior Center and the Rhythm Ramblers Band for several years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
