Mari Kristi Timmerman, age 49, of Minneapolis, and formerly of Wessington, died on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at the Benedictine Health Care Center in Minneapolis, MN.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church in Wessington, SD, with burial at the Wessington Cemetery, Wessington, SD.
Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Mari Kristi Kotzea, the daughter of Gene R. and Jaquiline Y. (Dokter) Kotzea, was born on December 25, 1959 in Webster, SD. She attended area schools and graduated from Webster High School. She also attended vocational school. Mari lived in Watertown, Mitchell, Miller, and Aberdeen. Mari married John P. Timmerman on May 23, 1986 in Aberdeen, SD. The couple then moved to Wessington, SD and lived there for 21 years, before moving to Redfield, SD, and then to Howard, SD.
Mari worked as a bakers helper and dishwasher for many years. She was also a homemaker.
Mari was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wessington, SD. Mari enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, listening to music, and helping John with the horses. She also enjoyed collecting and watching videos. Mari loved her dogs.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, John, of Howard, SD; her mother, Jaquiline Kotzea, of Webster, SD; five brothers, David and Donnie Kotzea of Aberdeen,SD Darryl Kotzea, of Watertown, SD, Ron Kotzea, of Madison, SD, and Joe Kotzea, of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Mari was preceded in death by her father, Gene Kotzea.
