Margie Welke, age 54, of 841 13th St SW, Huron died Sunday, September 18, 2005 at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 21st at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Rinearson officiating. Friends may call this Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Wednesday afternoon. There will be Sharing of Memories at 7:00 PM this Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Margie Welke was born Marjorie Rose Nelson on December 22, 1950, to Carl and Wilma (Steele) Nelson at Redfield, SD. She attended school at Redfield and graduated from Redfield High School in 1969 and from Huron College in 1988. On March 11, 1975, Margie married David Woody Welke at Redfield. They lived in Redfield until 1977 when they moved to Huron. Margie worked at various jobs at Huron as a receptionist, secretary and bookkeeper most recently at the Farm Service Agency. Margie enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her husband Woody of Huron, two daughters, Tina Welke of Minneapolis, MN and Traci (Mike) Mathies of Paynesville, MN; three grandchildren, Camdin, Dominic and Cohen; her parents Carl and Wilma Nelson of Redfield; two brothers, Bob Nelson of Redfield and Mike Nelson of Sioux Falls; three sisters Barb (Keith) Wetzler of Northville, Kathy Jacobson of Redfield and Chris Asmussen of Northville; and a special aunt Betty Johnson of Plymouth, MN. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. Casket bearers will be Karen Kuhns, Bonnie Geyer, Brenda Snyder, Lorrie Nelson, Renetta Marlow and Gayle Hise.
