Margaret J. Johnston, age 83, of Huron, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Firesteel Healthcare Center in Mitchell.

Her funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.

Margaret was born on September 3, 1932 in Huron to Charles and Marguerite (Connors) Johnston. She attended school in Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1950. She enjoyed taking care of her dogs and cats, reading, puzzles, socializing with family and friends, and canning.

Margaret is survived by her brother, Michael (Debbie) Johnston of Huron; 1 nephew, Jason (Angie) Johnston of Cottage Grove, MN; 1 niece, Tina Hofwalt of Watertown, SD; 5 great-nephews; 2 step-nieces, Melissa Voss of Brooklyn Center, MN and Teresa Riddle of Huron.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and 1 sister-in-law, Donna Brooks.
