Lyle Meyers, age 89, of Huron, passed away on Tuesday, Octobe 17, 2023 at his daughter's home in Huron under hospice care. A private graveside service will be held at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Huron.

Lyle Lavern Meyers was born on May 26, 1934 in Wessington, South Dakota to parents Andrew and Matilda (Freese) Meyers. He attended McKinley Elementary School and Huron Junior High School. Lyle served his country in the United States Army, serving in Beirut, Lebanon, Germany, Adana, and Turkey. He was honorably discharged and returned to Huron.Lyle married Donna Busch on May 22, 1965 in Huron. Lyle began his 45 year career with the Beadle County Highway Department in 1953, retiring in 1998.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as photography. Lyle was a member of the AFL-CIO-Union, where he was president for 3 years. He was a life member of the VFW.

Lyle is survived by his wife, Donna of Huron; his daughter, Debra (Steve) Wenz of Huron; granddaughter, Ashton (Aaron) Siebrecht of Sioux Falls; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Bernard, Ernie, George, Frank, Art, Alvie and Gene Meyers; and his sisters, Gladys Owens, Angie Forbes, and Lucille Maunders.
