Luella Sweany, age 95, of Lincoln, NE and formerly of Huron, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln. A private family service will be held with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, November 4, 2019 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Welter Funeral Home.

Luella V. Sweany was born on August 30, 1924 to parents August and Christina (Lippert) Lehr in Alpena. Luella attended schools in Alpena. She completed one year of college at Northwest College of Commerce.

Luella married Charles E. Sweany on June 15,  1947 in Alpena, SD.

Luella worked as a bookkeeper for Lawson's Plumbing and Heating for many years. She also worked at Huron Drilling Company, retiring in the late 1980's. Luella enjoyed gardening, especially vegetables. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Luella moved to Lincoln in 2003 to be with her daughter.

Luella is survived by her children, Larry (Deb) Sweany of Watertown, Kenneth Sweany of White, and Faye McFarling of Lincoln, NE; two grandchildren, Michael (Janice) Sweany and Andrew (Christie) Sweany; four great-grandchildren, Lexi, Zach, Ava, Luella A. Sweany.

Luella was preceded in death by her parents; her two sisters; and her husband Charles in 1996.
