Lucille Swain, age 87, of 1345 Michigan Ave. SW, formerly of 1990 Wisconsin Ave. SW, Huron, died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 7, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. Dale Sattgast and Rev. Christopher Ascher officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call this Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Wednesday morning. Lucille Swain was born Lucille Minnie Marie Behm on June 2, 1916, to Frank and Emma (Schultz) Behm at Canova, SD. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. On August 15, 1937, Lucille married Paul Swain at Madison, SD. They lived in Madison, Howard, Letcher, Forestburg, Storla, Woonsocket, and Mitchell. In 1971, they moved to Huron. In December of 2001, Lucille became a resident of the Huron Nursing Home. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Her interests included embroidery, and being outdoors and walking. She is survived by 3 daughters, Leanne Solem of Huron, Paulette (Dennis) Owens of Huron, and Lynne Jirsa and her fianc, Steven Beals of Huron; 7 grandchildren, Randy Owens, Tara Jirsa, Donna Reit, John Solem, Robert Solem, Nora Solem, and Anita Solem; 12 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Fred (Reva) Behm of Sioux Falls, and Philip Behm of Sioux Falls; 1 sister-in-law, Alice Behm of California; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul on May 10, 1982; 3 brothers, Leon Behm, Victor Behm, and William Behm; 1 sister, Laura Willoughby; 1 granddaughter, Virginia Lynne Solem; 1 brother-in-law, Herb Willoughby; and 2 sisters-in-law, Joy Behm, and Merle Behm.
