Lucille Hegg-Murphy, age 91, of Woonsocket, died Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral will be 2:00 pm Friday, February 3, 2012 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Woonsocket, with burial in Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be 6-8 pm Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron; or one hour prior to service. Lucille Amber Hegg-Murphy was born August 29, 1920 in Huron to Walter and Anna (Helseth) Peterson. She attended school in Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1938. Lucille married Earl Wiley Hegg on November 12, 1938 in Huron. The couple moved to a farm near Woonsocket where they farmed and raised their family. Earl died on July 11, 1989. Lucille married Douglas Murphy on May 1, 1993 in Woonsocket and then moved into town with Douglas. Douglas died November 19, 1996. Lucille enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the American Legion Post #29 Auxiliary of Woonsocket and a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. Lucille is survived by her children, Stanley (Pamela) Hegg of Woonsocket, Judy Peterson of Salmon, ID; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Michael) Shatirishvili, Ryan (Melissa) Hegg, Sara (Daryl) Heffner, Gary Hegg (Sara Haberling), Jill (Zeke) Smith; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Maylo Brusse of CA; sister-in-law, Faye Peterson of Rapid City, SD; and many beloved extended family. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Earl and Douglas; and grandson, Michael Hegg.
