Louise G. Harshman, age 83, of 1345 Michigan Ave SW and formerly of 405 21st St SE, Huron, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at the Huron Nursing Home. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, April 24th, at the American Lutheran Church with Rev. Steven Brandsrud officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call Friday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Saturday morning. The family will be present from 7:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Louise Harshman was born Louise G. Therkildsen on April 11, 1921, to George W. and Alma M. (Bjerkeset) Therkildsen at Huron. She attended Huron Schools. On July 31, 1937, Louise married Milo J. Harshman at the American Lutheran Church in Huron. They moved to Eckelson, ND where they made their home until 1942 when they returned to Huron where she has lived since that time. Louise was the administrator at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home from 1965 to 1975 when she became the administrator of Restlawn Memory Gardens until her retirement in 1987. She was a life member of American Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She was a member of Huron Business and Professional Women, Sewing Club, Ladies of the United Commercial Travelers Auxiliary, and Sons of Norway. She is survived by 3 daughters, Georgia Nelson of Omaha, NE, Constance (Harold) Lawrence of Sioux Falls, and Sandra Ackerman of Fort Collins, CO; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Anthony Therkildsen of Fort Collin, CO; 1 sister, Mary Ann (John) Wendel of Sanborn, ND; 3 sisters-in-law, Mildred Therkildsen of Huron, Ginger Therkildsen of Mesa, AZ, and Myrtle Olson of Valley City, ND; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milo on January 23, 1983, her parents, 3 brothers, Melvin, Nels and George Therkildsen, 1 son-in-law, Darrell Ackerman, 1 grandson, Scott Nelson, 1 niece and 1 nephew.
