Louis Allbee, age 83, of rural Huron, died Monday, January 17, 2005, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be at 1:30 PM Thursday, January 20, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron with Rev. Kevin Channell officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday afternoon and evening and Thursday until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or charity of donors choice. Louis Everett Allbee was born on November 4, 1921, to Ellis and Bessie (Wilcox) Allbee in Edmunds County, SD. As a small child he moved with his parents to Faulk County, SD, where he attended rural elementary school from 1927-1936. In 1936, he moved with his family to Beadle County where he attended and graduated from Huron High School in 1940. Following graduation he farmed with his father on the family farm until his father retired. Louis took care of his elderly parents until their deaths, after which he continued to farm until ill health forced his retirement. He continued to live on the family farm. He is survived by 1 brother, Glen (Beverly) Allbee of Woonsocket, SD; 2 sisters, Alice Cooper of Faulkton, SD, and Ione Buckley of Huron, SD; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Leo Allbee, Lloyd Allbee, and Maurice Allbee; 2 brothers-in-law, Russell Cooper, and Duane Buckley; 2 sisters-in-law, Leona Allbee, and Claurice Allbee.
