On Saturday, October 10 th , 2020, Lori E. Huber ended her battle from terminal COPD in her home, surrounded by her family and loved ones at the age of 62. Her visitation will be on Friday, October 16, at Welter Funeral Home from 3-6 PM with family present from 4-6 PM. A prayer service will be held at 6 PM at the funeral home. Her service will be live-streamed thru Nicole Cigelske's Facebook page beginning at 6 PM. CDC guidelines will be followed and masks are required.
Lori was born in Pierre, SD on December 23, 1957 to James and Lois (Farnam) Campbell. After receiving her GED she attended Nettleton Business College in Sioux Falls for accounting.
Lori married Michael Christensen in December of 1975 and had two children. On July 19, 1985, she married Daniel Edward Huber. Together they raised two sons, Michael and Adam, and three daughters, Bobbi, Nicole, and Rachel.
Lori had a great sense of humor and was always laughing and joking with people. She "adopted" many people along her journey in life and was often called "mom" by the people who knew her. One thing she loved (even more than coke-a-cola) was to watch her grandbabies grow, run, and laugh. You could actually see her face light up when any of her children came walking through her front door, often times unannounced. She enjoyed the holidays because it brought everyone together and a family camping/fishing trip was always on the agenda in the summers. In the evenings, she could usually be found crocheting an afghan or playing on the computer. She threw on a dart league with her husband and two sons and was frequently teased (lovingly) about her height in relation to the dart board. She was a night owl and worked in the mailroom of the Huron Plainsman for ten years before she had to medically retire.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Lois; her in laws, Allen and Anna "Margaret"; son-in-law, Andy Wollman; cousins: Connie, Danene, Dodi, and David; uncles: Ron, Duane, David, and Harry; aunts: Shirley and Jean.
Survived by her husband Daniel of Huron, her five children, Michael (Grace), Bobbi (Jason), Adam (Jackie), Nicole (Brock), Rachel, and her eleven grandbabies, Timothy, Mackenzie, Brandon, Justin, Darian, Lillian, Sierra, Grayson, Miyah, Miilayza, and Marquis.
