Loretta Blow, age 79, of rural Huron, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at her home. Her funeral Mass will be at 9:30 AM Monday, July 10th at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with Father Joe Holzhauser and Father Thomas Blow officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 AM MDT Tuesday, July 11th at the Black Hills National Cemetery at Sturgis, SD. Friends and family may call Sunday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 PM or prior to the Mass at the church Monday morning. Loretta Blow was born Loretta Theresa Raish on July 13, 1926, to William and Anna (Runge) Raish at Kimball, SD. She moved with her parents to Marshall, MN where she attended school. She later moved to Huron and was Deputy County Highway Superintendent and Deputy County Veterans Service Officer. On October 30, 1950, Loretta married Frank Blow in Huron. After her husbands retirement from the wholesale beer business they farmed, raised cattle, and operated a dairy. They also owned and operated a craft business called Prairie West Collection. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, past president of the altar society, a Sacristan and lay minister and served on the Liturgy, decorating, Pastoral Council and Renew committees. She also was a member of the Beadle County Extension Board, assistant 4-H leader, Girl Scout leader and a member of the Senior High School Advisory Board. She also volunteered at the St. Francis Shop. She is survived by 2 daughters, Mary Ann (John) Bruesch of Long Grove, IA, and Bonnie (Daniel) Eberhart of Naperville, IL; 3 sons, Father Thomas Blow, O.F.M., of St. Bonaventure, NY, Dr. Jerry Blow of Sioux Falls, and Michael (Judy) Blow of Sioux Falls; and 6 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank on December 15, 2005, her parents, an infant brother, Paul, and 3 sisters Emma, Dorothy and Gertrude.
