Lois Wheeler, age 87, of Huron, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron. There will be a private family service at a later date with burial in Riverside Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Lois M. Wheeler was born on January 12, 1926, in Sioux City, IA, to Bill and Myrtle (Jones) Byerly. She moved with her family to Huron and attended Huron Public Schools. Lois married Donald Wheeler on April 17, 1944, in Huron, where she raised her boys. Lois loved to read. Lois is survived by her sons, Kim (Cheryl Kahle) of Piedmont, SD, Steve (Peggy Hoffmann) Wheeler of Muscatine, IA, and Tom Wheeler of Huron; five grandchildren, Justin (Becky) Wheeler of England, Casey (Bud) Miller of Woonsocket, Shantel (Tony) Tschetter of Hitchcock, Kristen (Travis) Mason of Missouri Valley, IA, and Dustin Wheeler of Sioux Falls; 7 great grandchildren; three sisters, Madelyn (Rudy) Kraft of Oregon, Marlene Wilson of Huron, and Dorothy (Don) Christensen of Gregory, SD; several nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald in 1962; brothers, Vic, Don, Paul, and William Byerly; sisters, Muriel Olmstead, and June Hanson.
