Lois M. Harvey, age 76, of Huron, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016, at the SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron, SD.

Her Visitation with family present will be Sunday, October 9 from 4-5 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home.

Lois M. Jaquette, the daughter of Lawrence L. and Florence V. (Lovre) Jaquette, was born on November 19, 1939, in Huron, SD. She attended first through eighth grade at the Valley #1 school and graduated from Huron High School.  She also attended college at the Northwestern College of Commerce.

On August 3, 1956, Lois married Tom Harvey in Huron. The couple moved to Montevideo, MN, for a time before moving back to Huron.

Over the years, Lois was the co-owner and operator of Harvey's Radio and TV (sales and repair); Custom Auto Body; Fair City Motel; Thomas Cars and Marine; Mister Muffler; and Tom Harvey Land Farm (cleaning contaminated soil). Lois also worked for the U.S Postal Service for twenty years as a rural postal carrier retiring in 2004

Lois was a past member of Muskies, Inc. and the Rural Letter Carriers. She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and traveling to Canada in the summer and Arizona in the winter.

Grateful for having shared in Lois' life are her 4 children, Cindy (Evenson) Norris and her husband Donnie of Lincoln, NE, Wenda Hornig and her husband Bill of Yale, SD, Douglas Harvey and his wife Carrie of Rapid City, SD, and Mark Harvey and his wife Janell of Huron, SD ; 9 grandchildren, Tish Evenson, Nissa (Manuel) de la Torre, Kyle Hofer, Kimberly Hofer, Shawn (Amber) Harvey, Cassandra (Justin) Plooster, Aaron Harvey, Bailey Harvey, and Kayla Harvey; 8 great grandchildren, Ryan, Kara, Ethan, Evan, Emma, Eli, Darius, and Thorin; brother,Dale (Jessica) Jaquette of Page, TX;  and sister, Nina (Will) Lisenby of Bay Minette, AL

Lois was preceded in death by her grandparents and parents; husband, Tom in 2013; sister, Faye; and niece Gail Siebert.
