IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda G.
Hehn
March 29, 1959 – July 12, 2022
Linda G. Hehn, age 63, passed away of natural causes at her home in Huron on July 12, 2022. A private family service with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery will be held this summer.
Linda Gale Hehn was born in Huron, SD on March 29, 1959 to Harold and Marcella (Krueger) Hehn. She spent her childhood on the family farm 7 miles northeast of Wessington Springs, SD, along with her 3 brothers and 1 sister. Linda graduated from Wessington Springs High School in 1977, the same year the family sold the farm and moved to Huron, SD.
Linda worked at L.S.I. Manufacturing/Production in Alpena, SD for more than 25 years. Before health problems slowed her down, she thoroughly enjoyed touring the country by bus with her mother and an aunt. She was recently quoted as saying her favorite destination was when the three flew to Hawaii...and like all good vacations, there was quite a story there! Like her mother, Linda enjoyed gardening. She grew beautiful flowers, and always enjoyed a bountiful harvest of homegrown tomatoes. One of her favorite hobbies was going to rummage sales, and she could have easily won the title of Rummage Sale Queen! Through the years, she became quite the wheeler-dealer in the rummage sale business.
Linda loved horses, and spent several years going on group trail rides all across western South Dakota. Her palomino horses, Honey and Nugget, brought her years of enjoyment and adventures. Although her riding days were long past, she still loved spending time with her horses whenever she could, fondly remembering all the adventures they'd shared.
Linda was a dedicated daughter to her mother for all the years her mom was in the nursing home. Linda loved family gatherings, and learning about her family's history. Most of all, Linda loved her cats! She always had to have cats in her life, from her early days on the farm, to her last days. She had a special fondness for the Lynx Point Siamese breed, and rescued several throughout the years. Her two Lynx Points, Dusty and Coco, were her pride and joy, and brought her so much laughter and comfort until her very last day.
Survivors include her immediate family, 4 siblings; Vernon (Linda) Hehn of Sturgis, SD; Darold (Susan) Hehn of Rapid City, SD; Dennis of Brandon, SD; and Cindy Heppler (Donald Lee Bird) of Telford, TN; 2 nieces and 2 nephews, and 2 great-nieces and 2 great-nephews, along with several aunts and cousins.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents.
