Lily Header, age 91, of 50 7th St. SE, Huron, and formerly of the Cavour and Yale area, died Friday, March 18, 2005, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. Her funeral service will be at 1:30 PM Tuesday, March 22, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. Dale Sattgast and Rev. Christopher Ascher officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call Monday afternoon and evening and Tuesday morning at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Tuesday afternoon. The family will be present from 7:00 to 8:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home. Lily Haeder was born Lily Beckman on April 15, 1913, to Henry and Anna (Theilbar) Beckman on the family farm near Cavour, SD. She was baptized in the Methodist Church at Cavour. She attended school in Cavour and graduated from Cavour High School in 1931. She then attended Northern Normal at Aberdeen for 1 year. She taught in country schools for 1 and-a-half years, then returned to school and graduated from Huron College. She taught in schools at Sinai, Howard, Arlington, and later moved to Huron where she taught at Wilson School. In 1954, Lily married Erwin Haeder of Yale, SD. After their marriage the couple made their home at Yale. In 1954, Lily joined Trinity Lutheran Church at Yale. She taught school at Yale and Cavour until her retirement, after a 40 year career in teaching. In 1997, Lily and Erwin moved to Huron. In 2003, Lily became a resident at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. She is survived by 1 sister, Daisy May of Leesburg, OH; 1 brother, Elmer (Vylene) Beckman of Cavour; 1 sister-in-law, Peryl Beckman of Arlington; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erwin in 1999; 4 brothers, Roy, George, Harry, and William Beckman; 4 sisters, Marie Lemke Ziegeldorf, Dora Miller McKee, Alice Beckman, and Mabel Foster.
