Lotte Peterson, age 77, of 137 Illinois Ave, SW, Huron, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Monday, April 10, at the Welter Funeral Home with Father Joe Holzhauser officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening and Monday until time of service at the funeral home. The family will be present from 7:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Lieselotte Lotte Peterson was born Lieselotte Lbenfelder on September 23, 1928, to Johann and Antonie (Hoffman) Lbenfelder in Bamberg, Germany, where she attended schools and graduated from trade school specializing in retail sales. Over the next several years she worked in retail sales. On February 10, 1954, Lotte married Carlisle Peterson, who was stationed there with the U.S. Army, in Bamberg. After Carlisles honorable discharge in February of 1954, he returned to Huron and Lotte was able to join him in September. Lotte began working at St. Johns Hospital in Huron in 1960 in the dietary department, and retired in 1995 after 35 years of employment. She enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, traveling, reading, dancing, and being a member of St. Johns Hospital Bowling Team. She is survived by her husband, Carlisle of Huron; 4 children, Peter (Carrie) Peterson of Bismarck, ND, Ronald (Donna) Peterson of Aberdeen, SD, Joan Bartel of Katy, TX, and Christopher (KeeLee) Peterson of Marietta, GA; 9 grandchildren, Mark (Summer) Peterson, Bradley Peterson, Erik Peterson and his fiance Amanda Lynch, Nickolas (Tiffany) Peterson, Lisa Peterson, Danica Angles, Nathan Bartel, Brian Bartel, and Max Peterson; 4 great grandchildren, Piper Peterson, Kraityn Peterson, Reece Peterson, and Andrew Bartel; 1 brother, Gunter (Gertrude) Lbenfelder of Bamberg, Germany; and 1 sister, Hanni Dmling of Bamberg, Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents.
