Leah Ochsner, age 101, of Huron, SD, died Sunday, December 2, 2012, at her home. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, at Welter Funeral Home with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday morning one hour prior to the service. Leah Ochsner was born Leah Neuharth, daughter of Jacob and Christine Neuharth, on January 6, 1911, in Menno, SD. She attended school through the eighth grade. On July 4, 1936, Leah married Albert Ochsner on the Ochsner family farm at Alpena. After their marriage, the couple moved to Huron. Leah was a homemaker and also worked part time for Geyerman's in Huron. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing cards especially Bridge. Leah is survived by 1 son, Leonard Ochsner of Huron; one daughter-in-law, Bonnie Ochsner of Boston, MA, 6 grandchildren, John (Tamara) Ochsner, Steven Ochsner, Christine Ochsner and her husband John, Lisa (Kerry) Blount, Rebecca Turner of Denver, CO, and Rev. Scott (Michelle) Ochsner; 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert on May 30, 2001; 1 son, Kenneth Ochsner; 6 sisters, Martha Fuehrer, Helen Schnabel, Louise Lehr, Pauline Burrill, Lydia Ochsner, and Adeline Hamel; 2 brothers, Gideon Neuharth and Emil Neuharth.
