Larry D. Wenzel, age 64, of Wessington Springs, SD, died at his home on April 21, 2008. His Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, April 25, 2008, at the United Methodist Church in Wessington Springs with Rev. Don Grubb officiating. Burial of his cremated remains will be held at a later date. Visitation with the family present will be Friday morning one hour prior to the service at the church. Larry D. Wenzel the son of William and Violet May (Bessey) Wenzel, was born on October 28, 1943 at the Esther DeJong Maternity Home in Wessington Springs, SD. Larry graduated fromWessington Springs High School in 1961. He served his country in the National Guard from 1961 to1972. Larry married Muriel Eastberg on May 18, 1968 at the Free Methodist Church in Wessington Springs. Larry was a Law Officer with the city of Wessington Springs for 22 years before retiring in 2004. He was a lifetime member of the Willman-Fee American Legion Post #14 and the Buggy Seat Cowboys. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, playing cards, and going to auction sales. The joys of his life were his family and grandchildren. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Muriel, Wessington Springs, SD; two sons, Travis (Kimberly) Wenzel, Arthur, NE; and Jason Wenzel, Presho, SD; his daughter, Sue Ellen (Chuck) Faulhaber, Plankinton, SD; his six grandchildren: Gracie Mae, Justin Dean, and Ava Wenzel; and Cally Jo, Lexy Louise, and Caden Robert Faulhaber; two sisters, Joy Belle Bult, Wessington Springs, SD and Bessey May (James) Drout, Rapid City, SD; many nieces, nephews and friends; and his faithful companion, Maynard aka Badger.
