Larry Teuber, age 72, of 1957 McClellan Drive SW, Huron died Friday, September 28, 2007, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. His Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM Friday, October 5, at the First Baptist Church in Huron with Rev. Ken Hunt officiating and Military Rites by the South Dakota Army National Guard Honor Guard. There will be visitation at the church on Friday one hour prior to the service. Welter Funeral Home of Huron is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be directed to Huron Sertoma Club at PO Box 276, Huron SD 57350 or to the Huron Regional Medical Center Hospice at 172 SE 4th Street, Huron SD 57350. Larry LeRoy Teuber was born June 3, 1935 at Huron, SD to Henry and Viola [Hannan] Teuber. He was baptized at and a member of the First Baptist Church in Huron. He attended Jefferson Grade School and Huron High School before receiving his diploma. On June 23, 1955 he married Patricia Fluharty. Larry was a Master Sergeant in the Army National Guard. He enlisted part-time with the Guard from 1953-1957 and became full-time as an Organizational Maintenance Shop Chief from 1957-1993, at which time he retired. On November 7, 2006 he married Frances [Cranston] Hanson of Mitchell and formerly of Huron. Larry was the founder of the South Dakota Auto Body Association and was President for two years. He was owner/operator of Lathers Auto Body Shop for 27 years, owner/operator of Real Estate business, and owner/partner of Rocket Lube in both Huron and Pierre. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Enlisted Mens Association of the National Guard, Huron Jaycees, Huron Country Club, and member and avid fundraiser for the Huron Sertoma Club. Larry loved to golf and wintered in Mesa, Arizona. Larry is survived by his wife: Frances of Huron; two sons: Dr. Larry Teuber of Rapid City and Craig [Kelli] Teuber of Aurora, CO; one daughter: Michele [Tim] Fox of Mankato, MN; three stepchildren: Kim [Barry] Homan of Devils Lake, ND, Tom Hanson of Sioux Falls, and Lynn Heiter of Larchwood, IA; eight grandchildren: Alyssa, Harrison, Sarah, Mason, Brianne, Elise, Zachary, and Hannah; eight step-grandchildren: Andria, Brianna, Brady, Jaci, Travis, Kiley, Danielle, and Sierra; and four sisters: Lila [Richard] Boss of Nevada, MO, Judy Cockerham of Keller, TX, Phyllis [John] Paulson of Las Vegas, NV, and Betty Broderson of Huron; and one brother: Douglas [Norma] Teuber of Altoona, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Glen and two sisters: Margorie Bayer and Connie Streich.
