Larry Allen Nelson, 63, passed away May 24, 2023, at his home in Huron, SD after a long illness. His Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron.

A private burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Madison, South Dakota on Friday, July 14, 2023.

He was born October 13, 1959, and grew up in Arlington, SD. He served in the US Army, and liked hunting and other outdoor activities. He did a variety of jobs, but cooking at the restaurants was what he enjoyed most. His favorite football team was the Green Bay Packers, which he shared with his brother, Paul. Since his brother Jeff is a Vikings fan, there was a bit of friendly competition on Sunday afternoons.

Larry is survived by his wife, Terrie, son, Larry Jr, mother, Mary Dement of Sioux Falls, brother Jeffrey (Rhonda) Nelson of Dell Rapids, sister Denise (Ron) Griebel of Sioux Falls, sister, Celeste Nelson of Gilby, ND, step-son, Bobby (family Alli and Axton) Littlefield of Sundance, WY; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald, his brother, Paul, his maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.
