Larry Hoskins, age 51, of Greensburg, KS, and formerly of Wolsey, died Friday, May 4, 2007, in the tornado at Greensburg. His funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, May 12, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wolsey with Rev. L. Scott Spiehs officiating. Burial will be at the Wolsey Cemetery. Friends may call Friday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Saturday morning. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home with the family present from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Larry Edward Hoskins was born on August 23, 1955, to Edward and Lillian (Jungemann) Hoskins at Huron, SD. His family was living in Wolsey at the time of his birth. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wolsey where he also attended kindergarten - 3rd grade, then attended Wolsey public schools graduating from Wolsey High School in 1973. After completion of high school he continued to live in Wolsey and commuted to Huron where he worked at Huron Dress Beef. In 1975 he moved to Greensburg, KS, and worked for his brother, Charles, at Greensburg Farm Equipment. He later owned and operated a bar - Larry's Place, and was currently a tanker fuel carrier for Volz Oil Company, owned and operated by Norm and Bev Volz. (Bev Volz also died as a result of the Greensburg tornado.) Larry was a past member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Wolsey. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, his beloved housecat "Molly", and visiting with family and friends whenever he returned to the Wolsey and Huron area. He is survived by his mother, Lillian Hoskins of Wolsey; 2 brothers, Charles (Sandra) Jungemann of Greensburg, KS, and Randal Jungemann of Wolsey; 2 sisters, Lynn Nett (Robert) Wagner of Wolsey, and D'Ann (Dennis) Fromm of Huron; 2 nephews and 4 nieces; 10 great nephews and great nieces; 3 uncles, Parke Hoskins of Wolsey, Terry (Dianne) Jungemann of Jefferson, SD, and James (Sandra) Jungemann of Huron; 2 aunts, Janice Jungemann of Wolsey, and Norelle Bartel of Huron; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward in 1972; both sets of grandparents, Roy D. and Nettie Hoskins, Walter and Virginia Jungemann; a nephew, Adam Fromm; 3 uncles, Gerald Jungemann, Marlo Jungemann, and Wilfred Bartel; and 1 aunt, Yvonne Bartel.
