Larry Eugene Heavirland, age 66, of Rapid City, SD, formerly of Huron, SD and Mitchell, SD, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Golden Living Center of the Black Hills in Rapid City, SD. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Huron, SD with entombment at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum in Huron. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service at the Church on Thursday. Larry Eugene Heavirland, the son of Murray R. and Lavora R. (Johnsen) Heavirland, was born on August 19, 1948 in Huron, SD. He attended school and graduated from Huron High School in 1966. Larry also attended Southern State College in Springfield, SD. Larry worked in construction for many years until his retirement. Larry enjoyed playing cards, watching television, reading, and hunting. Larry loved horses and horseback riding. Larry also loved to go on road trips. Grateful for having shared in his life are his brother, Robert (Vicki) Heavirland of North Branch, MN; sister Joyce (John) Schlim of Rapid City, SD; his two nephews, Patrick Heavirland of Rush City, MN and Alan (Alison) Heavirland of Seward, AK; uncle, Phillip Heavirland of Oceanside, CA; three aunts: Carolyn Johnsen of Miller, SD, Irene Aughenbaugh of Rapid City, SD, and Margaret Heavirland of Washington.; and several cousins Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.
