Lanette Jacob, age 70, of Huron and formerly of Wessington and Willow Lake, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Huron Regional Medical Center. Her Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m., on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron. A time of fellowship will be held following the service at Kerry Bill and Marcia Stobbs' residence.

Lanette Louise Stobbs was born on February 8, 1954, in Huron, SD to William "Bud" and Lois (Prentice) Stobbs.  She graduated from high school in Wessington in May of 1973.  On July 19, 1974, she married Randall Edwin Hohm in Wessington. Randall tragically passed away on November 23, 1974.  Her pride and joy was born on January 14, 1975, and she named him Jamie Randall.  Lanette later married Russell Jacob in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.

Lanette loved to bowl and was a proud member of the "Honeybees."  Ceramics were usually found in every "nook and cranny" in the house.  She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 110 in Wessington.  Fall was a fun time of year for her as she loved to converse and cook for her out-of-state pheasant hunters.  However, Christmas was her time to shine.  The more packages that she could wrap, the happier she was.

Lanette's true pride and joy were her grandkids Jalen Rose, Jakob Randall, and Jayze Renae.  She loved to care for them at the house on the hill in Willow Lake.

The size and strength of Lanette's heart was very evident, especially in the final hours of her earthly life.  Family meant everything to her.

Lanette is survived by her son, Jamie Randall Hohm and wife Colleen of Willow Lake, SD; Granddaughters Jalen Rose and Jayze Renae Hohm, Willow Lake, SD; sister Katherine (Dick) Splichal, Custer, SD; brother Kerry Bill (Marcia) Stobbs, Huron, SD; Special Friend, Marty Decker, Huron, SD, and special nephew Austyn "Oscar" Molyneux, Huron, SD.

She was preceded in death by parents William "Bud" and Lois Stobbs; husband, Randall Hohm; and Grandson Jakob Randall Hohm.
