LaJune Culver, age 80, of Huron, formerly of Iroquois, died Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Good Samaritan Center in De Smet. Her body has been cremated and her memorial service will be 10:30 Saturday, November 23, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Iroquois preceded by private burial of her cremated remains at Maplewood Cemetery in Iroquois. Memorial visitation with family present will be Friday from 6-8 at the church in Iroquois with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. LaJune Culver was the daughter of Loy and Marjorie Randell. She was born in Huron, SD and raised in Broadland. She graduated from Huron High School and worked at Humphrey Drug for a number of years. She married Don Culver and together they had 6 children. LaJune worked for the Iroquois School system, first in Yale, and later in Iroquois as a Library aide, substitute teacher and the 'all school disciplinarian'. She loved working with students, and being part of the school life. LaJune loved to dance and spent many hours traveling to square dances and ballroom dances, and she loved to help people. LaJune was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cindy; her husband Don; and her good friend Jim. She is survived by 5 children: Michele and Charlie; Kermit and Susan; Brad and Penny; Randy and Donnelle; and Corey; 13 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Doris Culver; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Memorials will be dedicated to the Trinity United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
