Kory Steilow, age 44, of Huron, SD passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the Avera McKennan Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.  His memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 28, 2021 at American Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

Kory Steilow, the son of Perry Steilow and Briana Schorzmann, was born on May 28, 1976 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He grew up in Sioux Falls, SD and Sioux City, IA , graduating from Sioux City High School in 1994.

Kory worked at Syverson Tile and Cleberg Painting. He also worked at HMMI. He worked as a private contractor doing painting and dry walling. Kory painted many Burger King restaurants in South Dakota.

He enjoyed fishing, and being outdoors. He loved his dog and enjoyed taking them on walks. He liked to grill and go for walks around the lake. Kory liked to watch movies and Wheel of Fortune. Listening to music loudly and teasing people was also fun for him. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, but most of all he enjoyed being a good dad. He had a kind heart.

Grateful for having shared in Kory's life are his two daughters, Alissa Steilow of Sioux City, IA and Brilee Steilow of Galesburg, Il; grandchildren Max Anthony Steilow and Isabella Rose Johnson; half-sisters, Kaci Steilow and Kellie Steilow; significant other, Leslie Walton of Huron; his mother Briana Schorzmann of Huron; aunts Brenda Parisien and Belinda Scattini; cousins, Cammy Kuhns Weber and Ashley (Cody) McGhee.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pete and Rose Schorzmann, Paul and Myra Doyle; grandfather, Calvin Steilow; cousin Scott Peter Nelson; and friend Jay Samo.
