Kevin Metter, age 63, of Huron, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021 at his home in Huron. His memorial service will be on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Welter Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Kevin Lee Metter, also known as Curly, passed away August 30, 3021 at his home. He was born August 23, 1958 to Albert, Jr. and Patricia (Downs) Metter in Huron. When he was five years old, his father married Sharon (Atz) Metter. Kevin went to school in Cavour, Yale, and Iroquois schools. He graduated from 8 ^th grade. He later went to Vo Tech school in Nemo for construction.

Kevin married Betty Knouse in Rapid City. They had two children, Troy Lee (Spring) Metter and Tanya Metter.

Kevin enjoyed doing construction, gardening, fishing, and camping. He really enjoyed watching western movies. He enjoyed cooking and sharing food with friends. He loved giving the grandkids nicknames. He always had a big garden and liked to grow big veggies. He loved his dog, Buddy.

Kevin had 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandkids; Lucas (Jessica) Metter, Danyell Metter, Devon Metter, Ashley McBride, Brandon McBride, Taylor Metter, Tristin (Tony) Phillips, Trevor Phillips, and Destiny Stas.

He is survived by his special friend, Natalie Holler, who he took on the father figure of her two sons, one daughter, and 8 step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings; brothers, Rick, Jim, Jerry, Kyle (Shandra) Metter, and sisters Dawn (Spencer) Merchant and Teresa Ertel. He is also survived by special friends and family; his stepmoms, Sharon Sowards and Judy Metter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and cousins.
