Kenneth B. Trebelcock Jr., age 70 of Huron, SD passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Huron Regional Medical Center.
His memorial service will be 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Welter Funeral Home in Huron, SD, visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. His burial will be at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.
Kenneth Bruce Trebelcock Jr., the son of Kenneth Sr. and Mildred (Hauk) Trebelcock was born on April 5, 1953, in Spearfish, SD. He attended school and graduated from Spearfish High School. He also attended the South Dakota School of Mines. Kenneth served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war and was honorably discharged. Kenneth was a Jack of all Trades having worked as a mechanic, a logger, a welder, and a construction worker. He also owned and operated his own landscaping business during his stay in California. Kenneth finally finished his career working at HMMI, retiring in 2019.
Kenneth married Kathy Hampton on June 11, 1998, in Las Vegas, NV. The couple lived in California for a time before moving to Huron, SD.
Kenneth enjoyed riding and taking care of his motorcycles. He also enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. Kenneth loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, and was a loving father to all his girls. Kenneth served as president of the Huron Alano Club and was proud of the fact that as a recovering alcoholic himself he had been sober for over 8 years.
Grateful for having shared in Kenneth's life are his wife, Kathy of Huron, SD; son Matthew (Christie) Hampton of Victorville, CA; his six daughters: Heather Friend of Irene, SD, Kim (Todd) Thesenvitz of Huron, SD, Amanda Teoli of Oregon, Lisa Trebelcock of Huron, Kayla (Ivan Schafer) Trebelcock of Huron, and Rebecca Trebelcock also of Huron, SD; brother, Kevin (Karen) Trebelcock of Huron, SD; 29 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Laura (Glen) Hoard of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents, Kenneth Sr., and Mildred; and his sister, Kathy Earhardt.
