Kenneth Lang, age 44, of 1975 Riverview Drive, Huron, died August 14, 2007, in rural Huron. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 PM Friday, August 17, at the Welter Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Rinearson officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at the Welter Funeral Home. Following the prayer service his body will be cremated and his cremated remains will be buried in Custer, SD, at a later date. Kenneth Allen Lang was born on October 13, 1962, to Roger and Maxine (Husaboe) Lang at Alliance, NE. The family was living in Hyannis, NE, at the time of his birth. The family moved to Beresford, SD, where Ken grew up and attended school, graduating from Beresford High School in 1980. He attended SDSU in Brookings for 1 years prior to taking a job as an installer/repairman with the telephone company which took him to California, Colorado, and back to South Dakota. Over the last 15 years he has lived in Huron, except for occasional job transfers. During the last 4 years he permanently lived in Huron where he worked for the telephone company but also at various other jobs while he waited for employment with the railroad. For the past 2 years he was a mechanic with the DM&E Railroad. His many interests included fishing; canoeing; hunting; restoring and working on cars, trucks, and motorcycles; riding his motorcycles; remote control model airplanes; gold-panning in the Black Hills; snowmobiling; NASCAR; rock collecting; and gun collecting. Ken had a green-thumb and could make anything grow, and also had the talent of being able to mechanically fix anything. Ken especially enjoyed the solitude and serenity while exploring and hiking in the vast areas of the Black Hills. He is survived by his parents, Roger and Maxine Lang of Beresford, SD; 1 brother, Lavern Bernie (Dianne) Lang of Fairview, SD; 1 sister, Roga (Gary) Guthmiller of Aberdeen, SD; his paternal grandfather, Harold Lang of Fountain Hills, AZ; 2 nieces, Elizabeth Guthmiller, and Jessie Guthmiller; 5 aunts; and his fiance, Andria Acosta of Huron - (Ken and Andria were in the process of planning an Autumn wedding.) He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Norma Jean Lang; and his maternal grandparents, Maxwell Max and Ida Husaboe.
