Kenneth Gose, age 64, of 1620 Illinois Ave. SW, Huron, died Friday, March 2, 2007, at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls. His funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 7, at the Welter Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Channell officiating. Burial will be at the Wolsey Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday afternoon and evening and Wednesday morning until time of service at the Welter Funeral Home. The family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Kenneth William Gose was born on January 15, 1943, to William and Rose (Bussell) Gose at Wolsey, SD. He grew up on a farm near Wolsey and graduated from Wolsey High School. On August 15, 1962, Ken married Carolyn Jones at Wolsey. The couple moved to Huron where they have spent their entire married life. Ken worked at a couple of gas stations, the Huron Veterinarian Clinic, Sibley Motors, and H & R Block. In 1981, he started and operated his own income tax business, and also doing bookkeeping for small businesses including construction companies, mechanics, and trucking companies. For many years he worked at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds in Huron as a night watchman and at the Expo Building. He owned and operated 2 food concession stands for many years. After he sold those he owned and operated Korkys Taffy Concession Stand. He was a member of the Huron Area Antique Power Association, and the Siouxland 2-cylinder Club. In addition to attending many tractor shows throughout the area he was an avid collector of scale miniature die-cast tractors. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Huron; 1 son, Michael (Amy) Gose of Mexia, TX; 1 daughter, Karla (Dave) Kleinsasser of Watertown; 5 grandchildren, Austin Gose, Haylee Gose, Brandon Bubba Gose, Cindy Clark, and Kasie Clark; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
