Obituary

Kenneth L. Bogh, age 90, of Huron, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at Prairie View Care Center in Woonsocket. His funeral service will be 10:30 am on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church followed by burial and military honors by the Huron Veterans Council at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation with the family present will be on Sunday, June 17th from 5-7 pm at the Welter Funeral Home; or visitation one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

Kenneth Lee Bogh was born June 25th, 1927 in Yale, South Dakota to Willis and Dessamor (Schnackenburg) Bogh.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and became a longtime member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron, S.D.

While at Yale High School, he was drafted in 1945 and joined the US Marine Corp. During his time in the Marine's he was able to finish his classes and graduated from Yale High School.   He was honorably discharged and returned to Yale.  He met the love of his life Wanda Adebar and they were married on June 26, 1949. They were blessed with two daughters.

Ken worked on the Great Northern Railroad and then Armour and Co. where he retired.

Ken was a life-long member of the American Legion Post 7 and the Marine Corps League in Huron. He was a friend to all who knew him.

Ken enjoyed drawing his own patterns for woodwork and displayed lots of his items on their lawn.  He also enjoyed building his red dune buggy and giving his children and grandchildren rides around Huron.

Grateful for having shared in his life is his wife Wanda of 68 years; Daughters, Jeannine (Royce Loesch) and Elaine (James Adams); five grandchildren, Jeff (Leanne) Loesch, Justin Loesch, Michelle (Adam) Garner, Brent (Jenna) Adams, Brandon (Ashley) Adams; Six Great-Grand Children, Wyatt and Savannah Loesch, Tanner and Jaelyn Loesch, Kaidin Adams and Elizabeth Garner and two on the way. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law; Ramona and Janet Bogh and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Russell and Gordon Bogh and one sister Rilla Bogh.
