Keith Rearick, age 89, of Huron, SD, died Saturday, December 10, 2011, at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron. His funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, at First United Methodist Church with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home; or Tuesday afternoon one hour prior to the service at the church. Keith William Rearick, son of Ansel and Ella (Armstrong) Rearick, was born on March 1, 1922, in Letcher, SD. Following completion of his formal education in the Lecher area, he farmed with his father on the family farmstead. On September 19, 1943, Keith married Irene Fuerst in Mitchell, SD. They farmed in rural Letcher on their own farm for the next 8 years. In 1952, the couple moved to Huron. Between 1952 and his retirement in 1986, Keith worked many years for Sears Roebuck Company as a truck driver/delivery person; several years for Goodyear Tire fixing flat tires for rural route customers; and several years in the highway department for Beadle County. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Huron. His many interests included fishing, hunting, playing cards, puttering around the house with various projects, traveling, and watching television especially Westerns. He is survived by his wife, Irene of Huron; 2 daughters, Janice (Larry) Frey of Huron, and Dellila "Dee" (Gordon) Nelson of Huron; 1 daughter-in-law, Yolanda Rearick of Los Angeles, CA; 7 grandchildren, Russell (Patty) Nelson, Dennis (Heather) Nelson, Kevin Frey, Jennifer (Brady) Teveldal, Michael Rearick, Kevin (Wendy) Rearick, and Lupita (Matthew) Phillips; 13 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 son, Kenneth Rearick; 1 brother and spouse, Dale (Alice) Rearick; 2 sisters and their spouses, Leota (Clarence) Johnson, and Bernita (Allen) Johnson.
