Keith Osberg, age 84, of Huron, died Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Lake Norden, SD. His graveside rites will be at 1:00 PM Monday, March 17, at Riverside Cemetery with Rev. Rick Senner officiating. There will be no visitation. Keith H. Osberg was born on October 17, 1923, to Sig and Amanda Osberg in Huron, SD. He grew up in Huron where he attended public school. On October 15, 1943, Keith married Ferne A. Moilan. At the age of 17, Keith went to work for the Norbeck and Nicholson Well Drilling Company. In 1950, with his father and a business associate Charles Anderson, they formed the Huron Drilling Company. Keith was president and majority stock holder until his retirement after 45 years in business. At the time of his retirement the company had over 5000 wells on record. Keith enjoyed fishing, camping, and his dogs. His loves were his wife, Ferne, his grandchildren, and his church - American Lutheran in Huron. The bells in the church tower were donated by Keith and Ferne Osberg in memory of Keiths parents. He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn (Dennis) Brown of Bakersfield, CA; his son, Karl (Dee) Osberg of Huron; 7 grandchildren, Michelle Lujan, Albert Lujan, Amy Quon, Deborah (Eric) Williams, Jamie (Joe) Zilverberg, Tom Osberg, Abby Osberg, and Jennifer Osberg; and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ferne; and a son, Douglas Osberg.
