Kathleen Kathi Ferguson, age 34, of Hill City, SD, and formerly of Huron, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at her home in Hill City. Her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 15, at First United Methodist Church in Huron with Rev. Richard Rinearson officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call this Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday morning at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Saturday afternoon. The family will be present from 7:00 to 8:00 PM this Friday evening at the funeral home. Kathleen Rae Ferguson, daughter of Norman and Lois (Beckman) Ferguson, was born on August 13, 1971, at Deadwood, SD. She grew up and attended schools in Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1990. While attending high school she also worked at the Barn Restaurant. Following graduation Kathi attended SDSU at Brookings for 2 years. She returned to Huron and worked for the U.S. Postal Service at the Dakota Central Processing Station, then worked for many years as a manager for Warren Properties supervising numerous apartment complexes located throughout several states. Kathi resumed her education and enrolled at Western Dakota Technical School in Rapid City for 2 years, worked for GreenTree Financial Services in Rapid City, then returned to Western Dakota Tech and graduated in 2003 with a business degree in management and marketing. Her many interests included bowling (during her high school years), watching movies, and playing cards. Kathi always enjoyed the special moments when she could spend time with her family and friends. She is survived by her parents, Norman and Lois Ferguson of Huron; 1 sister, Cindy (Daniel) Foust of Rapid City; 2 nephews, Andrew Foust and Ryan Foust, both of Rapid City; her friend, Bill Sherburn of Hill City, SD; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by both pairs of grandparents; 2 uncles; and a very special friend, Jim Powell.
