Karla B. Puthoff, age 75, of Huron, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026 at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron.

Visitation, with her family present, will be from 6-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron. A Scripture and Rosary Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the church. Visitation will also be held from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday at Holy Trinity.

A committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery in Humboldt, South Dakota.

Karla Beth Puthoff was born on May 2, 1950, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Ralph and Lenora (Larson) Judkins. She grew up and attended school in Lincoln, graduating from Northeast High School. Following high school, Karla attended the University of Nebraska where she began her nursing training. She later joined the United States Army, serving as a Licensed Practical Nurse. While continuing her education, she earned her Registered Nurse degree from South Dakota State University.

During her time in the service, Karla met the love of her life, Roger Puthoff, while stationed in Hawaii. The couple was united in marriage on June 10, 1978. While stationed in Dayton, Ohio, the couple welcomed their son, Ben, on Valentine’s Day 1988.

Karla and Roger traveled extensively throughout the world during their military years. Karla devoted her career to caring for others, working as a nurse in several locations throughout their travels. She also later worked at Wal-Mart, where she enjoyed visiting with customers and coworkers.

In her free time, Karla found great joy in sewing, gardening, and canning. She was a faithful and active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, serving as a lector and eucharistic minister and sharing her love of music as a member of the church choir.

Karla is survived by her husband, Roger of Huron and their son, Ben of Huron; her siblings-in-law, Georgiana Donahue, Larry Puthoff, Mary (Roger) Mueller, Lyle (Shirley) Puthoff, Jim (Donna) Puthoff, Eileen Muellenberg, Anita (Jim) Morris, Karen (Ray) Anderson, Linda Puthoff, and Cheryl Barenklau, Dan Barenklau; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Lenora; her brother, Tom Judkins; her parents-in-law, Lawrence and Sally Puthoff; siblings-in-law, Denny (Mary Lou) Puthoff, Chuck Puthoff, Geri Puthoff, and Steve Ingalls.
