Karen K. Anderson, age 79, of Huron, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron. Her Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at First United Methodist Church in Huron with burial to follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation, with her family present, will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday morning.

Karen Kay Smith was born on January 20, 1943 to parents Lee and Beulah (Schaffer) Smith in Huron. She graduated form Huron High School in 1962.

Karen married Robert Anderson in Huron on March 15, 1986 at First United Methodist Church. Karen worked as a Nurses' Aide at Violet Tschetter Nursing Home for 14 years. She also worked as a beekeeper.

She loved to bake cakes and make candy. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandkids. She and Bob liked to take camping trips and take long walks. Karen liked to draw and was quite a good artist.

She is survived by her husband, Bob of Huron; sons, Dave (Sherri) Crandall of Sioux Falls and Curtis Crandall of Huron; son-in-law, Ron Gilbert; six grandchildren, Rebecca Fisher, Dylan Crandall, Nicole Gilbert, Cole Crandall, Alex Crandall, Christina Crandall and honorary grandchild, Emily Florey; two great-grandchildren, Izzy and Easton; her brother, Bob (Yvonne) Smith of Minnesota; sister-in-law, Juanita Misslitz of Aberdeen; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Darlis Fisher; her son-in-law, Lyle Fischer; two grandkids, Angelo Lee and Lee Angelo; two sisters, Bonnie (Dale) Wipf and Betty (Ray) Schroeder; two brothers-in-law, Larry Anderson and Dick Anderson.
