Obituary

June Hegg, age 81, of Huron, SD, died Monday, July 15, 2013, at her residence. Her body has been cremated and her memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 2, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with memorial visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. June Hegg was born June Mary Hedblom, daughter of Harlyn Henning Hedblom and Gladys Eleanor (Blake) Hedblom, on January 14, 1932, in Huron, SD. She graduated from Huron High School in 1949. She attended USD from 1949-1950 where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. On September 7, 1950, June married Don Hegg. June has lived most of her life in Huron except from 1957-1959 in Anaheim, CA; returned to Huron where she lived until moving to Richfield, MN, in 1967; moved back to Huron in 1968 and worked at Larry's Women's Clothing Store and also at her father's business, Hedblom the Clothier Store. June also attended Huron College from 1970-1972; lived in Minneapolis from 1982-1985 and worked at Republic Telecom Inc.; returned to Huron and worked for Nordby Rentals as a commercial/residential property manager until her retirement in 2002 June's many interests included playing bridge, reading, traveling, dancing, socializing with her many friends and acquaintances, and visiting her children and grandchildren. Her memberships included Holy Trinity Catholic Parish; LaSertoma; Red Hat Society; Republican organizations, Chamber of Commerce; and involved in many civic-minded activities. She is survived by 5 children, Cathie Hegg of Minneapolis, MN, Carole (Durand) Brewster Spokane, WA, Rich Hegg of Spokane, WA, Bob Hegg of Spokane, WA, and Jodi Starnes of Spokane, WA; 7 grandchildren, Bob (Patsy) Brewster, Ryan Brewster, Sara (Keith) Hutchinson, Lindsey Hegg, Corrie Hegg, A.J. Starnes and Sawyer Starnes; 1 great grandchildren plus 1 soon-to-be-born; 1 sister, Eleanor (Jack) Peterson of St. Paul, MN; 1 sister-in-law, Connie (Brook) Farnsworth of Houston, TX; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. June was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 brothers, Harlyn John (Barb) Hedblom, and Blake Hedblom
