Obituary

June Arbeiter, age 95, of Huron, SD, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 19, at Living Hope Alliance Church in Huron (18th & Frank) with burial at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.; or Monday morning one hour prior to the service at the church. June Arbeiter was born June Rose Moeller, daughter of Herman and Molly (Meyer) Moeller, on July 1, 1916, on the family farm near Cavour, SD. She attended country school through the 8th grade. On October, 1, 1938, June married Edward Arbeiter in Huron. They lived for a short period of time in Estelline prior to moving to a farm near Huron. June and Edward enjoyed 63 years of marriage. They farmed until their retirement in 1989 and in the fall of 1997 they moved into Huron. June's hobbies included sewing, crocheting, quilting, gardening, and hosting family gatherings. She will be remembered as a great mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who took interest in her family's activities. Shortly after her 95th birthday June entered SunQuest Healthcare Center where she was living at the time of her death. She is survived by 5 children, Howard (Hilda) Arbeiter of Huron, Esther (Bill) Macy of Kirkwood, MO, Goldie (Lloyd) Zabel of Renville, MN, Delores (Jerry) Thompson of Ft. Worth, TX, and Marvin Arbeiter of Amarillo, TX; 8 grandchildren, Robert (Angie) Arbeiter, Judy (Doug) Hughes, Connie (Joaquim) Braga, Tim Arbeiter, Sandy (Tyrone) Castle, Pamela (Joe) Schlagel, Rebecca Zabel, and Chase (Lindsey) Arbeiter; 7 great grandchildren, Sarah Arbeiter, Matthew Arbeiter, Cassandra Castle, Helen Castle, Daniel Castle, Samantha Hughes, and Peyton Schlagel; 1 sister, Eva Beck of Omaha, NE; 2 sisters-in-law, Ethel Moeller of Sundance, WY, and Elsie Moeller of Estelline, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward on May 24, 2001; 1 daughter-in-law, Sherri Arbeiter; 6 brothers and spouses, Edward (Annie) Moeller, Hank Moeller, Ray Moeller, Richard (Margaret) Moeller, Kenneth (Marjorie) Moeller, and Bill (Phyllis) Moeller; 2 sisters and spouses, Hazel (George) Beckman and Margaret (Bob) Galyen; and brother-in-law, Knute Beck.
