Judy Faye Eckmann, the daughter of Darold and Ila (Meink) Eckmann was born on January 26, 1950 in Huron, SD. She graduated from Huron High School in 1968. Following high school, she attended Northwest College of Commerce in Huron and then worked at Northwestern Public Service.
On October 4, 1969, she married the love of her life, Stanley Dubro, at Riverview Methodist Church in Huron. They had 2 children, Chad on June 15, 1972 and Julie on January 11, 1976. Stan and Judy have lived and farmed south of Iroquois their entire married life. After starting a family, she helped on the farm, where they milked cows and raised hogs. After selling the milk cows and hogs, they continued to raise crops and cattle. Judy also was the bookkeeper for the farm. In October 2019, they celebrated their 50 th wedding anniversary with many friends and family.
Judy was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was always lending a hand where needed, whether it was helping with potlucks or running the band sound system. She loved her "Circle Ladies" like sisters and looked forward to their time together.
You could always find Judy in the kitchen. She loved to garden and canned her produce every year. She loved to cook and bake, and she was always trying new recipes. Her sewing machine was put to good use fixing holes in jeans and making dresses for her granddaughters.
The joys of her life were her grandkids. Judy loved spending time with each and every one of them. She spent many hours at their sporting events and other activities. The girls learned to sew and bake with Grandma Judy, and Keistan was their taste-tester. Anytime there was a bake sale or special school project that involved crafting, she was willing to help. Many have commented that Judy was the most lovable and kindest soul they have met.
Grateful for sharing her life is her husband, Stan, 2 children, Chad (Angel) Dubro of Iroquois and Julie (Andy) Boomsma of Wolsey; 6 grandchildren, Keistan, Katie, and Kera Dubro, and Ally, Mya, and Rachel Boomsma. She is also survived by her brother Doug (Peggy) Eckmann of Cavour, mother-in-law, Margery Dubro of Huron, 2 sisters–in-law, Karen (Gene) Halsey of Huron, Kathy Kasperson of Huron, 1 brother-in-law, Wayne (Patti) Dubro of Iroquois.
She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Marion Dubro.
