Judith A. Beck, age 78, of Huron, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Avantara Huron in Huron, South Dakota. Her private funeral service will be on Friday, September 25 at Welter Funeral Home, with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Huron.

Judith "Judy" Ann Karstens was born on August 7, 1942 in Watertown, South Dakota to parents Arthur and Marion (Estenson) Karstens. Judy graduated from Huron High School in 1960.  Judy married Ron Beck in Pipestone, MN on June 10, 1960. Throughout her years, Judy worked for Sears as a mail order catalog clerk, as a telephone operator, and as a bank teller at F&M Bank. Later, Judy and her husband Ron drove truck nationwide while saving up to purchase their own business. They bought Ace Hardware, where she worked until she retired.

In Judy's younger years, she enjoyed golfing and bowling. Once retired, Judy enjoyed spending her winters in Arizona with her husband Ron. She also liked to spend her evenings driving around in the general and stopping for ice cream. Judy loved being at Lake Byron and spent many evenings boating on the pontoon with friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Marion; son, Paul; and a sister, Joan Hopper.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Ronald Beck of Huron; children, Bret (Julie) Beck of Huron and Todd (Karen) Beck of Ripon, WI; 6 grandchildren, Courtney (Michael Hagley) Beck, Aidan Beck, Caleb (Samantha) Beck, Taylor (Jason) Grundman, Kylie (Tylor) Burnette, and Cauy Beck; 4 great-grandchildren; sister Dona (Tony) Haan; and sister-in-law, Delores Wessel.
