Judi LaNell was born on July 7, 1940 to parents Robert and Irene (Johnson) Huber in Mitchell. Judi grew up on the family farm near Woonsocket, where she developed a lifelong love for country living and the simple joys of farm life. She graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1958. Judi married Norman Johnson in 1958 and two children were born to this union, Norm and Peggy. Later she married Robert Reilly on December 7, 1973 and together they had children Paige and Lance. Judi and Bob made their home in rural Wolsey for 40 years.
She enjoyed gardening, raising chickens and roosters, and staying connected to the rhythms of rural life that meant so much to her. Judi found happiness in crafting, working puzzles, and spending cherished time with her family and friends. She also had a love for horror movies and could often be found reading a Stephen King novel. Music was always a part of her life, and she enjoyed listening to all genres and artists.
Judi had a creative spirit and entrepreneurial heart. She took great pride in her business, Dakota Baskets and More, where she enjoyed creating and selling her goods at local Farmers Markets. Through her work, she made many friendships and loved visiting with those she met along the way. For many years, Judi was the guardian for her brothers Richard and Brad, whom she lovingly cared for. Judi was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.
Judi is survived by her children, Norm (April) Johnson of Woonsocket, Lance Reilly of Wolsey, and Paige (Adam) Ochsner of Alpena; nine grandchildren, Brooke (Adam) Gough, Josh (Lori) Cleveland, Ashley Cleveland, Morgan Matthews, Mallorie High, Krystal (Christian Heath) Wilken, Zachary (Kendra) Reilly, Kacie (Logan) DeJean, and Alexis Reilly; 19 great-grandchildren (and 1 on the way) and 1 great-great grandchild; sisters-in-law Sheila Huber of Black Hawk, and Adaline Reilly of Huron; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert in 2013, her daughter Peggy Johnson in 2025, three brothers, Richard Huber, Bradley Huber, and John Huber, and her great-granddaughter, Tiana Wilken.
