On March 3rd, 2017 Joyce participated in a commitment ceremony with her long-term partner and friend David Madesen.
Joyce enjoyed spending time with friends, making cookies, listening to music and watching the Vikings play. Joyce had a spunky personality and those that knew her will remember her for the "Hi" that she would yell out whenever or wherever she saw you. Joyce loved socializing and being around others offering her support and giggles.
Throughout the last several years, Joyce participated in Bible Study when she felt up to going. Joyce loved being around people and in the mix of any events. She loved the SD State Fair and helping her friends run their booth. This was the highlight of her year. She greatly missed being able to do this in the last few years due to her health.
Joyce was preceded in death by both her parents when she was in high school. She is survived by her significant other David Madesen and dear friend Tami Gahm.
