Joseta Lucklum, age 75, of Huron died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron. Her memorial service will be 11:00 am Friday, March 9, 2012 at the Church of the Nazarene in Huron. Visitation with family present will be 6-8 pm Thursday night at Welter Funeral Home. Following visitation on Thursday night her body will then be cremated and burial of her cremated remains will be held at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery in Clark. Joseta Mary Lucklum was born July 8, 1936 in Conde, SD to Alvin and Ester (Grandpre) Becker. She attended Turton Public Schools and St. Theresa's Catholic School in Huron. Joseta married Wendell Shoultz in Lake Andes, SD on September 29, 1954. The couple raised their family in Huron until Wendell died on April 10, 1965. Joseta married Albert Lucklum on October 28, 1966 in Huron. Joseta worked various jobs around Huron, including as a housekeeper at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. She worked there until she retired because of health reasons. Joseta enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, scrap booking, playing cards, camping, knitting, and making quilts for her family. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and the Farmers Union. Joseta is survived by her second husband, Albert Lucklum of Huron; seven children, John (Kathy) Shoultz of Huron, Carolyn Crathers of Huron, Kenneth (Nancy) Shoultz of Huron, Charles (Martha Allhouse) Shoultz of Castlewood, Allen (Robin) Shoultz of Huron, Helen (Juan) Herrera of Belton, TX, Larry (Pamela) Shoultz of Huron; four step children, Yvonne (Herb) Harrington, Wayne Lucklum, Wanda (Larry) Erickson, Bruce (Lynn) Lucklum: 23 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren; step sister, Donna (Dean) McGillvrey of Huron; brother-in-law, Patrick Dowd of Huron; and many nieces and nephews. Joseta was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Wendell; infant daughter, Mary Jo; grandson, John Wendell; and sister, Ina Dowd.
