John Stinehart, age 62, of Council Bluffs, IA, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at the Veteran's Hospital in Omaha, NE. His funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial at Riverside Cemetery in Huron. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

John Larry Stinehart was born on September 2, 1960 in Duluth, Minnesota, to parents Larry Stinehart and LaVonne (Wipf) Floe. John graduated from Huron High School in 1979. In 1980, he joined the United States Army and served his country for 25 years. After retirement, he worked at the Veteran's Hospital in Omaha doing bookkeeping and inventory for army and medical supplies.

He is survived by his daughter, Christina; his wife, Penny; his mother, LaVonne (Charles) Floe of Huron; 5 brothers, Jim (Verna) Stinehart of Sault St. Marie, MI; Terry Stinehart of Colorado Springs, CO; Dennis Weber of Minneapolis; Randy (Danielle) Weber of Longmont, CO; Rodney (Elizabeth) Weber of St. Paul, MN; and several nieces and nephews; Aunt Sharon Savig and Uncle LaWayne Wipf.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry.
