Obituary

John A. Crandall, age 63, of Huron, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron. His Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Bethesda Church in Huron, South Dakota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. John Allen Crandall was born on February 3, 1960 to parents Raymond and Julia (Haugen) Crandall in Huron. He graduated from Wolsey High School in 1978. John attended Mitchell Technical College in 1979, graduating in 1981 for Heating and Air Conditioning. After graduation, he started working with Shorty's Service. Later, he took over the business and renamed it Crandall Heating and Air Conditioning. He married Glenda (Neuharth) Crandall and from this marriage they had two sons. They later divorced.

John worked for Hofer Farms for several years driving trucks. He enjoyed being a part of dart and pool leagues.

John was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wolsey. On June 1, 2023, he affirmed his faith to Jesus Christ with Tony Haug of the Bethesda Church. On February 13, 2016, he married Dawn (Molyneux) Crandall and gained two stepchildren, Austyn Molyneux and Elen (Wagner) Crandall.

John is survived by his two sons and their families; his wife, Dawn of Huron; their children, Austyn Molyneux and Elen (Caleb Schulte) Crandall, his beloved dog, Emma Sue; sisters, Sharon Busch and Pam Fode; brother, Jeffrey Crandall; brothers-in-law William "Bud" (Candy) Molyneux and Roger Weinmann; parents-in-law, Richard "Dr. Dick" (Kathy) Splichal; aunts and uncles-in-law, Lanette Jacob, Marty Decker, Kerry William "Bill" and Marcia Stobbs; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Julia; sister Sandra (Crandall) Weinmann; father-in-law, Ronald Molyneux; and brothers-in-law, Jim Fode and Louis Busch.

In lieu of flowers, family prefers memorials to help with funeral expenses.
