JoAnn Quellar, age 76, of St. Cloud, MN, and formerly of Huron, SD, died Wednesday, January 5, 2011, in St. Cloud.
Her body has been cremated and her memorial service will be Saturday, January 15, at 1:00 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home.
JoAnn Quellar was born JoAnn Agnes Groothius, daughter of Renko and Marie (Sproul) Groothius, on January 14, 1934, in Huron, SD. She graduated from Virgil High School and then attended Northwestern College of Commerce in Huron for 2 years.
JoAnn worked at Armour & Company for many years and then decided to move to Oklahoma City, OK, where she met and married Isaac Ike Quellar in 1962.
JoAnn worked at the family business until their moved back to Huron in 1979. JoAnn worked for Huron Regional Medical Center for 24 years missing only 1 work day in all of that time.
She enjoyed shopping, reading going out to eat, traveling and most importantly loved spending time with her family.
JoAnn is survived by her only child, Lisa Quellar of Custer, SD; her brother, Kendall (Joey) Groothius of Maryville, TN; her brother-in-law, Steve Merritt of Wolsey, SD; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ike; 1 sister Ardythe Merritt; and a brother-in-law, Earl Kline.
