JoAnn Marie Johnson, age 83, of Huron, died on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron. Her body has been cremated and a private ceremony will be held at a later date. JoAnn Ritter, the daughter of Herbert and Carol (Reed) Ritter, was born on May 8, 1931 in Woonsocket, SD. She attended and graduated from Woonsocket High School. JoAnn then attended Yankton College. She worked for Huron Regional Medical Center for 14 years. JoAnn married Robert Johnson on November 10, 1951 in Huron, SD. JoAnn was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and served in many capacities at the church. JoAnn also spent several years volunteering. The most important thing to Jo Ann was her family. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and loved to attend their events. Grateful for having shared in JoAnn's life are her daughter, Shelly (John) Wilson of Huron; two sons, Todd S. (Juanita) Johnson and David L. Johnson, both of of Huron; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. JoAnn was preceded in death by her grandparents; her parents; her son, Scott; one sister; a daughter-in-law; and several aunts and uncles.
