Joan Pearson, age 84, of Huron passed away on Saturday, October 21,
2017 at SunQuest Healthcare Center.

Her funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, October 24, 2017
at the Huron Christian Church with burial in Restlawn Memory Gardens
Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be from 5-8 p.m. on
Monday, October 23 at Huron Christian Church, with a Prayer Service at
7 p.m., or visitation one hour prior to the funeral service at the
church.

Joan Jackson was born September 16, 1933 to Amos and Myra (Farish)
Jackson at Barry, TX. She grew up in Emhouse, TX, until moving to
Temple, TX, where she graduated from high school. After high school
she worked as a bookkeeper at Ford Motor Co. She met up with a young
man named Carl Pearson shortly after he was stationed at Fort Hood,
TX. He was sent then to Korea. After returning from serving in Korea they
were married January 17, 1953 in Temple. After
they were married, they moved to South Dakota, where she became a farm
wife and they raised their family. Joan and Carl worked long days in the field,
while her husband worked at Armour's, and served in the National Guard.
She worked hard and taught her kids a good work ethic.

Joan also kept active in her church, serving as a Sunday School
teacher and Bible School teacher. She was also active in a Home
Extension Club for many years. She enjoyed sewing, was an excellent
cook and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her
family.

Joan is survived by her husband, Carl of Huron; children Gail (Ken)
Farnham of Tulsa, OK, Joey (Tammi) Pearson of Brandon, Timothy (Julie)
Pearson of Forestburg; grandchildren, Scott (Aurora) Farnham, Kyle
(Emily) Farnham, Melissa Pearson, Amy Pearson, Kassie
Pearson-Brandenberg, Cody Pearson, Tanner Ploen, Mikayla Ploen, Jenica
(Patrick) Bender, Jordan (Kaillyn) Pearson; great-grandchildren, David
Farnum, Jalyn Bender, Jacee Bender, Jasen Pearson and sister, Louise
Foster, Auburn, AL.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, sister Wanda Jackson,
brothers Virgil Jackson and Clifton Jackson.
